WHY WE ARE CALLED 1534 KANATA.
The year was 1534. Jacques Cartier lands on a "New-found-land" and was rescued by Kanatas First Nations people.
Since that time, much of First Nations history has been written from the perspectives of others. We at 1534 Inc. want to correct that narrative and celebrate our traditions. On behalf of First Nations peoples we wish to thank you for help supporting indigenous endeavors coast to coast to coast.
